The Delaware Captive Insurance Program has a New Website

Look out world! Delaware is gaining ground in the captive insurance industry.

Captive insurance companies, which are owned by the entities that they insure, are usually formed by businesses that wish to better manage the cost and administration of their insurance coverage. Due to the increasing number of captive insurers domiciling and re-domesticating to Delaware, the State has unveiled a new and improved website.

“The success of the Bureau of Captive and Financial Insurance Products in licensing new captives and the interest shown in Delaware as a captive domicile necessitated an upgrade to what I refer to as our business card to the world. Delaware has a long-standing reputation as a global state and our website reflects this.” - Delaware Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart

The upgrades include easier access to documents regarding annual filing requirements, an explanation of the Delaware Advantage, and biographies for the captive staff.
