BACKGROUND: The Delaware General Assembly is being asked to pass legislation designed to make it possible for AAA Mid-Atlantic’s Delaware call center employees to conduct business by telephone with Virginia AAA customers. This proposed amendment to the Delaware Insurance Code, creating a special licensing category for auto club call center employees, will allow AAA Mid-Atlantic to keep call center jobs in Delaware rather than moving those jobs to Virginia, and create the possibility of generating additional Delaware AAA jobs for telephone business in other states.
