US DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AGAIN APPLAUDS COMM. STEWART AND DEPT. OF INSURANCE'S RATE REVIEW PROCESS
Dover, DE - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USHHS) continues to give Commissioner Stewart and her administration of the Delaware Department of Insurance excellent grades for its health insurance premiums/rate review program. In a letter dated October 19, 2011 and addressed to the Commissioner, USHHS said, "Delaware has an Effective Rate Review Program. We applaud your efforts to provide your State's insurance consumers with an Effective Rate Review Program for association coverage." Commissioner Stewart said, "The President's administration's letter, the second commendation we have received this year, affirms that we are continuing to fulfill our goal of re-engineering the Department of Insurance into a consumer driven, transparent organization while successfully managing the forces that impact on consumer premiums." Commissioner Stewart added, "I am encouraged that we are continuing to pave the right path in reviewing and approving insurance rates that keep the needs and the interests of the consumer first." ###
