Supplemental Insurance
Supplemental insurance provides benefits in addition to those payable under basic are major medical policies. Supplemental insurance policies provide limited benefits which may be used to pay deductibles, co-payments or charges which may not be covered by your health insurance plan. These policies should be used to supplement, or enhance, your existing health insurance. They are not a substitute for basic or major medical insurance. Often, supplemental policies have waiting periods so that the benefit don't begin until the coverage has been in force for a certain number of days, or until you have been in the hospital or disabled for a certain number of days.
