How much does Long-Term Care cost?

Long-term care can be expensive, depending on the amount and the type of care needed and on the setting in which it is provided. A year in a nursing home, for example, costs about $46,000; skilled nursing care provided at a person's home costs about $19,3000; and personal care provided at home by a home health aide costs about $10,600.
