Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Hospital Indemnity coverage pays benefits for each day the insured is confined in a hospital. This type of protection usually is offered as optional supplemental coverage to group or individual medial expense insurance. Benefits are paid from the first day of hospital confinement, for either a sickness or injury. The maximum benefit period is generally 3, 6, or 12 months.

The benefit normally is stated in a flat dollar amount per day, week, or month.
