Specified Disease Insurance
Specified Disease Insurance pays benefits for the treatment of a specified disease, such as cancer, stated in the policy. These policies are not usually available if you have been previously diagnosed or treated for the specified disease. They also usually have a waiting period before benefits begin and do not always pay for all charges related to the medical care received to treat that disease. Most major medical health insurance policies cover cancer and other dread diseases. Be sure you do not purchase a supplemental plan that covers charges for diseases that are already covered under your major medical or HMO health insurance plan.
